FAQ
Short answers to common questions about prices, losses, resolution, approvals, Polygon, fills, fees, selling, claiming, and support.
Why does the price move?
Prices move when traders update bids and asks or trades execute. News, liquidity, market rules, and order-book depth can all affect price.
Can I lose my money?
Yes. If your position resolves against you, your shares can become worth $0. You can also lose value by selling below your entry price.
What happens when a market resolves?
Trading stops. Winning shares can generally be redeemed for $1 each, while losing shares can become worthless. Disputed or reviewed markets can take longer.
Why do I need approval?
Approval lets the relevant trading wallet path use a token for trading or settlement. Approval does not move funds by itself, but you should only approve prompts you understand.
What is Polygon?
Polygon is the blockchain network used by the current Polymarket trading and settlement paths. The app may ask you to switch to Polygon for setup, approval, funding, or trading.
Is this official Polymarket?
No. The app uses Polymarket-compatible market, order, wallet, and settlement concepts, but it is not official Polymarket and these docs are not Polymarket's docs. When the app sends you to an official fallback, check the destination carefully before connecting or signing.
Why is my order not filled?
There may not be enough liquidity at your price, the order book may have moved, your order may have expired, or the market may no longer be tradable. All-or-nothing orders fail if they cannot fully fill immediately.
What are fees?
Fees can include Polymarket taker fees on eligible markets, app-displayed routing or affiliate fee components, bridge/provider fees, and network-related costs. Review the live trade, deposit, or withdrawal preview before confirming.
How do I sell before resolution?
Open the market where you hold shares, choose Sell, pick the outcome and amount, then submit a market-style or limit sell order. Selling depends on available bids.
How do I claim winnings?
After a market resolves, open Portfolio or the resolved event page. If you hold winning shares, use Claim, Redeem, or Claim winnings when shown and approve the expected wallet prompt.
Where can I get help?
Use Get Help in the docs header when available. Share public troubleshooting details only: page URL, market name, wallet address, approximate time, and visible error message.
