Claiming

What claim and redeem mean after a market resolves, how winning positions are handled, and common claim failures.

Claiming or redeeming applies after a market resolves. If you hold winning shares, the app may show Claim, Redeem, Claim winnings, or a claimable state.

What happens at resolution

When a market resolves:

  • Trading stops for that market.
  • Winning outcome shares can generally redeem for $1 each.
  • Losing outcome shares can become worth $0.
  • Some markets can take longer if the outcome is disputed or needs review.

A claimable market does not mean every position is winning. Check that your held outcome is the resolved winning outcome before signing a claim or redeem action.

Claim flow

  1. Open Portfolio, a public profile position, or the resolved event page.
  2. Find the resolved winning position.
  3. Choose Claim, Redeem, or Claim winnings if the action is available.
  4. Reconnect or verify the wallet if prompted.
  5. Review the wallet prompt and approve only the expected claim action.
  6. Wait for the transaction or relayer status to complete.

The app may ask you to reconnect the wallet if the live connector is missing or stale. Session state alone is not enough for a live signature.

Why claim may fail

  • The market is not resolved yet.
  • You do not hold winning shares.
  • The wallet is disconnected or different from the verified wallet.
  • Your claim path is not supported in-app for that wallet mode.
  • The wallet signature was rejected or timed out.
  • The relayer or network is temporarily unavailable.
  • The market is still in review or disputed.

If a supported in-app claim path is unavailable, the app may direct you to the official Polymarket flow. Do not send seed phrases or private keys to anyone claiming they can redeem for you.
